The short answer: CHF 84 in summer, CHF 60 in winter

Mount Pilatus tickets: frequently asked questions
How much is a Mount Pilatus ticket in 2026?
CHF 84 for adults in summer, CHF 42 with a Half Fare Card or for children aged 6 to 15. In winter the round trip from Kriens costs CHF 60.
Is Pilatus free with the Swiss Travel Pass?
No. The Swiss Travel Pass gives 50 percent off the mountain sections. The boat and bus 1 are free. Only the Lucerne Travel Pass includes the mountain fully.
Do I need to reserve a seat on the cogwheel railway?
It is recommended, not required. On busy summer days a reserved slot saves waiting. Holders of the Lucerne Travel Pass have to pay for the reservation separately.
Is a one-way ticket cheaper than a round trip?
Single sections are priced at half the return fare, so a one-way ride costs CHF 42 on the cogwheel railway or the Kriens route. The summer ticket for up one side and down the other costs the same CHF 84 as a normal round trip.
Are the 2027 prices known?
Not yet. The 2026 price list is valid until 31 December 2026.
